The Bangor City Council and Mayor Gerry Palmer on July 13 presented the Bangor Chinese School with a proclamation recognizing its contributions to the community by teaching Chinese language and culture to children and adults here since 2005. Displaying the proclamation are Jing Zhang (left), president of Bangor Chinese School and director of the Chinese Language & Culture Center of Maine, and her husband, Dr. Suzhong Tian, academic officer of Bangor Chinese School and math teacher at the University of Maine and Husson University.
