Dear Friends:
A massive 7.8-magnitude earthquake centered in Wenchuan, Sichuan,
China occurred at 14:28 pm, May 12, 2008. The dead toll has surpassed
73,560, with 12,221 people still missing in China's worst earthquake in three
decades.
We appreciate so much that The Chinese School has received calls from many sources, including Bangor
Daily News and other media in the past two days; some have expressed a desire to contribute to a relief fund. In response to these requests, we have established an
account to accept donations for earthquake relief. We alreay received money from many friends. All donations will be sent to
the disaster area directly to help rebuild the schools through the China Embassy located in the NYC, USA.
To contribute, please make your check payable to "Maine Support
