2. Chinese Teacher
We are looking to fulfill a new position for MANDARIN CHINESE TEACHER beginning as soon as possible!
It can be full-time or part-time. Prior experience is not necessary.
Job Description:
The Bangor Chinese School offers Chinese lessons to students of any age and any level as long as they
want to learn! Teachers at the Bangor Chinese School use Standards of Teaching Foreign Language to
deliver a professional, effective, and fun language learning experience. We are always looking for
new ways to personalize our teaching toward our students in both 1-on-1 and group classes. Classes may
be in person or online. Our mission is to further Chinese language and culture education in Maine and beyond.
If accepted for this position, you will receive training before start you teaching or at the two week
Chinese Teacher Training Program in the summer. During this training, you will also have the opportunity
to teach at the Bangor Chinese School Chinese Dragon Summer Camp.
Required Qualifications:
1. Native/ fluency in Mandarin (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)
2. Bachelor's degree
3. U.S. Work Authorization
Desired Skills:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
2. Passionate about Chinese language and culture education
3. Strong problem solving skills and creativity
