Intermediate Level I: Comprehensive intermediate level course covering listening, speaking, reading, and
writing. This course will prepare the student to use the language in a variety of everyday
situations, discuss topics with accurate Chinese, and improve reading and writing skills.
Upon completion of this course the student should be able to read and comprehend a 300
character article in 5 minutes and write a 500 - 800 character article in Chinese.
Intermediate Level II:
Comprehensive intermediate level course covering listening, speaking, reading and writing.
This course will prepare the student to use the language in a variety of everyday
situations, discuss topics with accurate Chinese, as well as improve reading and writing
techniques. Upon completion of this course the student should be able to read and
comprehend a 500 character articles in 5 minutes and write an 800 - 1000 character essay
in Chinese.
Intermediate Business Chinese (IM-B):
Comprehensive intermediate level course with a focus on vocabulary and conversation for
the business professional. Students will increase Chinese proficiency in the areas of
international business, economics, trade and finance. Students will explore both language
and cultural aspects of doing business in China. Reading and writing skills will also be
developed as students work with a variety of authentic business materials and are
introduced to Chinese character input methods on the computer.

Intermediate I: Saturday 9:30 – 11 PM
Intermediate II: Monday 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Intermediate Business Chinese: Thursday 6:30 - 8:30 PM
For children:
Intermediate I: Sunday 3:00 – 4:30 PM; Tuesday 3:20 – 5:00 PM (After School I)
Intermediate II: Sunday 9:30 – 11:00 AM; Monday & Thursday 3:20 – 5:00 PM (After School II)

Certificate
Bangor Chinese School will issue a certificate to students who pass a comprehensive test.
Events
Each semester the school will hold a dumplings party including a study of Chinese foods.
