About the Program:
Bangor Chinese School in collaboration with Hubei Polytechnic University School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Huangshi, China are pleased to offer a Traditional Chinese Medicine Course. It is co-sponsored by Husson Institute of Continuing Health Education Programming and Eastern Maine Medical Center. The course will offer a combination of pre-trip study of Chinese language and fundamentals of Chinese Medicine, and will conclude with travel to and study in China. Participants will work and study under the direct supervision of Chinese Medicine practitioners in didactic lecture settings and will obtain direct hands-on experience in Hubei's renowned Traditional Chinese Medical hospital as well.

When and Where:
February 2 - April 10, 2015 continuing education at Husson University, Bangor and Portland ME

Participants begin study in Husson University with a hybrid course including weekly independent review of study materials. Participants will receive instruction from Chinese major professors via teleconference with interpreter. For more detailed schedule, please see the brochure.

April 18 – April 28, 2015 Immersion study in Huangshi, China
Classes will be conducted throughout the following week in accordance with the schedule provided, subject to change as class progresses and individual progress dictate.
In general, classes will be held with instructors daily, excluding weekend days, from approximately 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM. Students will have ample time available daily to review materials with instructors and staff. For detailed schedule, please download the brochure.
Additionally, students with proper professional credentials are invited to participate in hospital staff activities at local facilities, and within the community, as space allows.
Daily visits to important cultural heritage sites in the area will be included to allow students to better understand and appreciate the process of healthcare provision in the province, and to encourage participants to engage in the hands on delivery of care as much as is possible.

College Credits
Attendees are eligible to receive three (3) credit hours. Credits will be issued by Husson University as needed, with extra cost. Contact us for details.
